Information we collect

Google sign-in information

If you choose Continue with Google, Home uses Google only for account sign-in. Through Clerk, our authentication provider, we receive the basic identity information you authorize: Google account identifier, name, primary email address, and profile image. We use it to create, identify, display, authenticate, and secure your Home account.

Home does not request Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or other Google Workspace content. Google sign-in is separate from Google Maps Platform features.

Information you add

This can include your home address, property and household details, contacts, rent and lease information, access instructions, vehicle details, guided-interview answers, questions, AI preferences, and support messages. For uploaded documents, we store the file, metadata, and searchable text passages.

Technical and usage information

Home and its providers process authentication and session identifiers, essential cookies, security and diagnostic logs, and basic device, browser, IP address, and referring-page information. Vercel Analytics measures anonymized, cookieless page views. Interface preferences may be stored locally in your browser.

If you install Home as a web app, your device may cache public app code, icons, and an offline notice. Home's offline cache excludes authenticated dashboard pages, API responses, uploaded documents, household details, and other private workspace data.

02

How we use information

  • Create, authenticate, secure, and support your account.
  • Operate your private home workspace and saved Home Facts.
  • Store, index, search, display, and delete your documents.
  • Validate an address and provide a map, local time, and weather.
  • Answer questions through an AI provider when you invoke Ask Home.
  • Prevent abuse, diagnose problems, maintain reliability, improve the service, comply with law, and enforce our Terms.
03

Google sign-in data

Google sign-in data is used only for account, authentication, security, and display purposes. Home does not sell Google user data, use it for targeted advertising, use it for credit or lending decisions, include it in AI prompts, or use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

If we propose a new use, we will update this policy and obtain consent when required before using Google data for that purpose. Home's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements where applicable.

04

Google Maps Platform

When you type, select, or confirm a home address, that address is sent to Google Maps Platform for suggestions and validation. Google may return coordinates Home uses transiently for your map, time zone, and local time. Home also uses those coordinates to request local weather from the U.S. National Weather Service. Home does not request your device's precise GPS location or use Maps features to track you.

Home retains only the address you confirm, including a USPS standardized version when you choose to save it. Google-derived coordinates are not saved to your profile and are cached for no longer than 29 days. National Weather Service forecast results are cached for up to 10 minutes. Google processes Maps requests under the Google Privacy Policy and Google Maps End User Additional Terms.

Weather data is provided through the National Weather Service API, a public service of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Weather information may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate and should not be used as an emergency warning service.

05

AI features

Ask Home runs only when you ask a question. Home may send relevant non-sensitive saved facts and a small number of relevant document passages to a ChatGPT account you connect. If that connection is unavailable, Home may use OpenRouter and a model provider available through it.

A passage can contain personal information present in your document. Avoid Ask Home for information you do not want an AI provider to process. Google sign-in information is not included in AI prompts. Provider processing is governed by the OpenAI Privacy Policy and OpenRouter Privacy Policy.

06

When information is shared

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information is disclosed only as needed to:

  • Clerk for sign-in, account, and session management.
  • Supabase for database and private document storage.
  • Vercel for hosting, delivery, diagnostics, and analytics.
  • Google Maps Platform for address, map, time-zone, and local-time features.
  • National Weather Service for local weather forecasts.
  • OpenAI, OpenRouter, and model providers when you invoke an AI feature.
  • Comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own and are subject to their own privacy terms and legal obligations.

07

Storage and security

Home uses HTTPS in transit, database row-level access controls, server-side secrets, and private document storage. Document downloads require an authenticated, authorized request and use a signed URL that expires after 60 seconds. Connected ChatGPT session material is encrypted before database storage when configured for production. No system can guarantee absolute security.

08

Retention and deletion

We generally keep your account, confirmed address, saved Home Facts, documents, document index, and preferences while your account is active or until you delete the relevant item. A connected ChatGPT session expires within 30 days unless disconnected sooner. Security and diagnostic records are kept only as reasonably needed for operations, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and disputes.

Deleted data may remain temporarily in provider backups until those backups rotate or where law requires retention. Within Home, you can delete documents, reset your home profile, disconnect ChatGPT, or permanently remove active account data through Settings → Delete account.

You can revoke Home's Google access from Google Account permissions. Revocation stops future Google sign-in access but does not delete information already stored in Home; use account deletion for that.

09

Your choices

You may review or correct saved information, delete documents and account data, revoke connected services, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion. Applicable law may provide additional rights.

You can uninstall the Home web app or clear its public app cache through your browser or device settings without deleting your Home account.

10

Children

Home is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11

Policy changes

We may update this policy as Home changes. We will revise the effective date and provide added notice for material changes when appropriate. Previously collected Google user data will not be used for a materially different purpose without notice or consent required by Google policy or applicable law.
